Engineering Strategies & Practice (ESP)

Project Clients

We are looking for engineering design projects for student teams to work on in the Winter term (January-April). Some of our past projects include space/workflow redesigns; product and building accessibility designs; environmental, energy, and time-saving systems; household devices and many more. There is no cost to volunteer, and as a Project Client you will be helping our Engineering students grow as engineers by exploring their role in society. If you have a project/problem that could benefit from the attention of a group of motivated and technically-minded students, submit your project proposal or contact the ESP Office for more details.

Time commitment: All we ask is your attendance at three meetings over a three month period. At the end of the term students invite their clients to a final presentation of their design solution. As well, clients receive a faculty supervised engineering design report, including a human/environmental impact assessment and cost assessment.

Number of positions available: By mid-December of each year, we need approximately 190 design projects so that students could start working on them in January.

Submitting a project: If you would like to become a client, you can do so easily by completing the form in the Client Application section of our website.

If you think you might be interested in becoming a client, but have some questions about the process, you may contact the ESP Office for more information. In addition, if you know of others that might be interested in participating, please pass this information on to them.
