Engineering Strategies & Practice (ESP)

Become a Seminar Leader

Seminar teaching is aimed primarily at having students engage their peers, learn actively rather than passively, and think creatively.  The Seminar Leader is expected to achieve these goals via readings and discussion.

Seminar Leaders are responsible for accomplishing the following tasks:

  • Preparing a topic for discussion or asking the staff for assistance in developing an issue.
  • Attending the three 2-hour seminar sessions.
  • Leading the seminar students in a discussion of the social, environmental, economical, and political issues that surround the subject.
  • Grading the students in your seminar for class participation.  A marking form and instructions will be provided.

To volunteer or for more information email the Seminar Coordinator, Jason Bazylak.
